Featured Shoot: Get Caked Bakery

My recent photoshoot with Get Caked Bakery was pretty sweet, if I do say so myself! 😋

For this session, we highlighted their signature cupcakes and cookies, some specialty mini cakes – and of course, some shots of cake making in action!

One thing that I liked in particular, was that my creativity for this shoot wasn’t limited – in fact, the owner Kelly said that she trusted my eye and let me run with the style and composition of the photos. And when I get a green light like that – I PLAY!

So for the cake products I laid out old newspaper clippings and scattered cake decorating tools over a wooden board to give the images that raw, rustic, and scratch-made look. For the cookies, I went in the opposite direction and softened the scene with a light pink gauze fabric and delicate floral saucer plates and matching accessories.
